OOh, news just in from our roving reporter (well [livejournal.com profile] mr_road anyway) , aparently [livejournal.com profile] lordstorm just paid a deposit to move into our flat when we leave! Glad to see the place in good hands!

We've got an election here next week down here in Laaaandon. What's cool is we get to have a first choice and a second choice; if our first choice isn't one of the top two then they go to our second choice.

This means you can vote with your first vote for who you really want to win, then spend your second vote blocking Labour or the Conservatives depending on who you hate the most. This is especially handy as most people just want to stop (Ken/Boris) at all costs because most people cant stand Ken (and or) Boris.

I think if everyone in London actually understood how this works then we'd probably have Brian Paddick as mayor, probably closely followed by Siân Berry or somesuch. Obviously people don't understand this so we'll have Ken or Boris :)

Would be a way of making our crazy national elections better as well I think, whilst still keeping everything personal. Except actually national elections should be proportional representation obviously ..

Tube strike is supposedly over! I just hope someone's told all the people who clogged up the bus/road network yesterday..

Looks like the old plan for letting you use oyster cards for the kind of translations you would usually use change for are being revived !

I really want to be able to buy coffee with my Oyster card. It'll make dodging paying on the bendy-bus seem even more worthwhile!

Update: [livejournal.com profile] draxil is a dumbass for linking the live weather picture rather than a snapshot which is why the snow has gone. Grumble.

Missed lots of "should have been" entries recently, but I really should note that [livejournal.com profile] wiggi's fireworks party was damn good. It had everything a fireworks party should have from the alcoholic fondue to explosions.

Anyway.. I walk past the infamous Bow Street magistrates court every morning which often provides some kind of amusing scene in the morning to start my day. Today however it was just Pete Docherty being hounded by paparatzzi. So that was a disappointment.

Speaking of disappointment, I noticed today that we now print business cards for Channel M. Does that still exist? I seem to remember from when I lived in [livejournal.com profile] manchester that it's content was mostly ice hockey and salford uni based chat shows, so how do they get enough advertising revenue to buy business cards?!

Good sort of a day so far. Been exploring mostly, discovered a market full of shocking cockney stereotypes (perly kings, on stage, singing "maybe it's because I'm a Londoner", I kid you not) and a more convenient swimming pool.

The latter is the cause of my current endorphin-ified calm fuzzyness. Mmmm..

Must be cup of tea time.

*Phew*

I'm knackered.

[livejournal.com profile] daisydoggie has been down for a while, but today we were out and about. Went to Covent-Garden, the National History musem (lots of dinosaurs) and the Science musem (lots of toys).

Then we went to Camden... For H_O_U_R_S.

Then I went to Borders, and amazing bought nothing. Not even the new China Mielleville compilation (waiting for the paperback... Probably.).

Now I think I'm going to open a cold hobgoblin (or two, or three) and then go to sleep.
