There's an election (local) today, which mostly reminds me I no longer have a dog to take to a polling station. To people from countries without this delight taking pictures of dogs at polling stations is a british meme, possibly now a tradition I think?

Prior example:

But I'm not sad about it because I'm now confident I'll be in on this for the next one! Our dog search has begun in earnest. Of course DW will be the first to know!

Well that's Britain for the early 20s, stuck with a massive Tory majority. As I've said elsewhere it's going to feel like the 1980s all over again. Except quite possibly with the breakup of the UK thrown in.

The Labour party, and to a lesser extent the Liberal Democrats are really going to have to sort their act out.

I shudder to think of the full implications, but at a minimum: Brexit will now actually happen, we'll align more closely with the USA and there will be a rich vein of leftwing satirical comedy.

Pretty gutted.

Of course I should have slept, but I listened to the results until about 3AM.

General Election tomorrow. I'm not optimistic. I guess at least it'll be over soon?
