Sad to hear about Terry Jones dying.
Monty Python and Douglas Adams formed some kind of a bedrock of sanity in my teenaged brain, without which I don't think I'd ever have coped with the bewildering insanity of adult life. The particular lesson that those in authority are generally hapless petty idiots is a lesson particularly well taught by Python.
I'm pretty confident that Terry's lines as Brian's mother are more widely quoted than any "genuine" biblical scripture. He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.
And somewhat related..
Went to see Terry Gilliam's "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote", a film he's basically being trying to make all my life. Well he finally made it! It's an excellent film, but there's also an awful film included as well. As you'd expect for such a passion project it's a bit indulgent, with some editing it could be a complete masterpiece. As it is it's a fascinating flawed gem. I'd genuinely like to have a go at making a cut of this film!
We had to work hard to track down a screening, and there were only just double digit people in the place. I really hope I get to see another new Terry G film someday, whatever happens they're always interesting.
