iPad vs Freedom Petition

I know this petition will not stop Apple from their gluttonous lockdown-fest ways, but it's important to poke them. I really hope this stuff isn't the future of computing.

Then again, I happily own a horrendously locked down PS3... So I'm probably a huge hypocrite. But I think the i[pad/phone] lockdown bothers me more because I think phones and computer-like-things are more important to keep open and free than games consoles.
